The Great Equalizer

In truth, death is the great equalizer. In death, friendship ceases to be relevant. Possibly the same thing could also be said about friendship within one’s life. Throughout my lifetime, I have often wondered why I would come across others whom I have a connection with, just to experience this connection within a predetermined period of time, and then simply watch this connection fizzle out before me. It might seem irrelevant to you, but I do find this predetermined period of time to be fascinating to observe. This period of time suggests to me that this connection is simply transitory, as the connection was there to help you through some sort of transition you were experiencing within your life’s progression. It’s funny how life will seem to bring others into your life, even though you may feel as though there is no need for them to be there. Is there really a need for any of us to be there or here? Probably not, yet if you and I are still here, there must be some type of purpose we have yet to fulfill.
